Pets in White House history

One year from today, a new family will move into the White House. With a rich history of pets living in and visiting this historical building, it's likely there will be additional stories to add to a special exhibit in the White House Visitor Center.

One particularly heartwarming tale is about Archie Roosevelt's brother, Quentin, bringing their pony, Algonquin, upstairs via the White House elevator to visit Archie when he was sick.

Hopefully they didn't let him jump on the bed.
